URM acquired the Reuse group of companies in 2006. The Reuse group of companies is the largest processor of glass in the United Kingdom representing approximately 55% of the recycled glass market and 50% of the recycled plate market. Reuse designs, constructs and operates the most advanced glass beneficiation plants in the world and currently operates glass processing facilities in Knottingley, Doncaster, South Kirby and Harlow. In 2006 Reuse introduced new technology that includes “colour enhancing” equipment to increase the purity of clear glass from 97% to 99.5% pure. Other equipment removes pyro-ceramic material such as pyrex, metals, ceramic, and other contaminants.

Berryman (Reuse Collections) was founded in 1922 and is the oldest recycling company operating in the UK. Berryman currently has processing contracts with over two hundred municipalities and is the only company operating within the United Kingdom that offers a collection service with National coverage. Berryman has collection depots in West Yorkshire, Birmingham and London and various ports that are used to export glass to various countries throughout the European Union from the Northern and Southern Regions of the United Kingdom. Berryman is a member of British Glass and was the recipient of a National Recycling Award and the winner of the Queens Award for Enterprise - Sustainable Development.
